Found Magazine's "Find of the Day""the fan is the boss of the ceiling" i like that. It got me thinking of other inanimate objects that silently assert their dominance over others. These objects when separated from their counterpart aren't necessarily inherently intimidating. They don't physically exude a certain prowess. these demure objects and appendages are often overlooked, but clearly control the main event.
fan is the boss of the ceiling. Laces are the bosses of shoes. Zipper and belt are the bosses of pants. Buttons are the boss of the shirt. thumb is the boss of the hand. a container is the boss of a liquid. plastic is the boss of hermetically sealed packaging. hermetically sealed packaging is the boss of sterile instruments....
Belts are an exception. They seem to connote violence and abuse. Sleek brown or black leather ones seem to be more menacing than colorful or overtly feminine ones though.
